With Ash’s first major fight at the Masters Tournament seeing him take on a great opponent, he’s up against someone even bigger next.
The latest episode of Pokemon Journeys Broadcasting in Japan saw Ash successfully defeat Hoenn Champion Steven Stone in his first Masters match, and the series is now preparing for the Masters semifinals. With Cynthia winning her match before, it now means that Ash will finally test his skills against Cynthia for the first time in the franchise overall. Episode 118 of Pokemon Journeys It was recently broadcast in Japan and Ash defeated Stephen Stone in battle. With Cynthia defeating Iris in the previous episode, he is now going head-to-head with Cynthia in the semifinals before he gets a chance in the main rematch with Leon he’s been working towards all along. Ash has been fully aware of Cynthia’s skills since the two first crossed during his adventures in the Sinnoh region, but it’s also been made clear that Cynthia has gotten stronger over the years as well.
Her first Masters fight revealed that she has Mega Garchomp at her disposal, so Ash should definitely be ready for what she can offer in her first major battle. It’s something fans have been wanting to see from Ash for a long time, and now it remains to be seen whether or not he can actually beat her and go to the Grand Finals of the World Series podium overall.
